Acceptance
On first launch, MaDose shows you the key points of these terms and asks you to accept them. By tapping "Accept and continue" ("Accepter et continuer") and then using the app, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use MaDose.
1. What MaDose is
MaDose is a memory aid. It lets you set reminder times for your pills (supplements or medication), log your doses and track how many pills you have left. It does nothing more than remind you of what you ask it to, based on the information you enter yourself.
2. MaDose gives no medical advice
Neither the MaDose app, nor Cap Commun, nor TeoZapps give medical advice, and that is not their purpose.
- MaDose provides no medical advice, no diagnosis, and no recommendation of treatment, dose or schedule.
- MaDose is not a medical device. It does not check your prescriptions, drug interactions, contraindications or doses.
- The texts in the app (help, reminders, stock alerts, welcome tour) only explain how it works. None of them should be understood as health advice.
- MaDose does not replace the advice of your pharmacist, your doctor or another health professional. For any question about your medication or your health, consult them.
In an emergency, call 911. In Québec, for health advice, you can call Info-Santé at 811.
3. Your health and your medication remain your responsibility
By using MaDose, you acknowledge and agree that:
- you alone are responsible for your health and for how you take your medication and supplements: what to take, when, how much and for how long;
- you must follow the instructions of your doctor, your pharmacist and your medication labels, even if they differ from what you entered in MaDose;
- you are responsible for the accuracy of the times, quantities and other information you enter, and for updating them when your treatment changes;
- it is up to you to pay attention to your medication: MaDose helps you remember, but does not do it for you;
- for an essential medication, you must not rely on MaDose alone and must have another way to remember it.
If you use MaDose to help another person, you remain responsible for that help, and that person or their health professional remain responsible for their treatment.
4. Reminders may not work
MaDose does its best to trigger each reminder on time, but it depends on your phone. A reminder may be late, not appear or not ring, for example if:
- the phone is off, out of battery, on silent or in Do Not Disturb mode;
- MaDose notifications or exact alarms are turned off;
- a battery-saving feature restricts the app;
- the phone's time, time zone or system has changed;
- the app was force-stopped, updated or uninstalled, or its data was cleared.
The number of pills left is calculated from the doses you log and the quantities you enter. It may differ from what is actually in your bottle.
5. Limitation of liability
MaDose is provided as is and as available, with no guarantee that it will work without interruption or error.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Cap Commun (TeoZapps) is not liable:
- for your health, or for the consequences of a dose that was forgotten, late, doubled, skipped or taken incorrectly;
- for the consequences of a reminder that did not trigger, an inaccurate stock alert or an error in the information you entered;
- for decisions you make about your health or treatment by relying on the app;
- for the loss of your information, in particular if you change phones without a backup or forget your passphrase.
Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited, or to deprive you of your rights under Québec's Consumer Protection Act or any other applicable law.
6. Minimum age
MaDose is intended for people aged 18 and over.
8. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use MaDose on your devices, for your personal use. You agree not to copy, modify, decompile, resell or distribute the app, or to bypass its security or purchase mechanisms. MaDose, its name, its code and its content belong to Cap Commun.
9. Privacy
MaDose collects no information about you: everything stays on your phone. The details are in the MaDose privacy policy.
10. Changes to the terms
We may change these terms, for example when a feature is added. The new version will be published on this page with its number and effective date. If the change is significant, the app will show it to you and ask you to accept it again before you keep using it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Subject to the rights the law gives you, in particular to bring a claim before the court where you live, the courts of the judicial district of Montréal have jurisdiction.
12. Language
These terms are written in French. This English translation is provided for convenience; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
